Black Uterus 2023

The Black Uterus is inspired by the profound wisdom of the Tao Te Ching: "The Tao gives birth to One, One to Two, Two to Three, and Three to all things." In this work, Kai-yen Tu channels the primordial vibration of the universe, emerging from a conscious void, a place where chaotic waters swirled with potential energy—much like a womb cradling the essence of life and matter. These waters, in their silence, birthed ripples that spread outward, symbolizing the emergence of all things.

For the artist, water’s power transcends its physical form. Its texture and depth hold transformative potential, shaped by individual experiences and emotions. This isn't simply a reflection of water itself, but a meditation on the profound relationship between humans and water, capturing a deeper essence of the human condition.
